Tips and Etiquette

Before we begin, here are some fruit-picking tips and etiquette you should know:

  • The produce will usually be charged by weight or by baskets. And you will have to pay for everything that you have picked, so be sure to only pick what you need.
  • Some farms charge an ‘entry’ fee. But this fee can be used to offset the charges of your picked produce.
  • Eating as you pick is not allowed.
  • As weather conditions could greatly impact the availability of produce, it is recommended to check the farm’s official websites and/or social media, or call their hotline to check what is available before heading to the farm.
  • The farm ground may be uneven, so you make sure you wear shoes that are comfortable and fit for walking on uneven grounds.

Parkside Farm

mid-June to mid-August | strawberries, raspberries, blackberries

Located in Enfield, Parkside Farm is a family farm that has been around since the 1930s, and it offers fruit picking of table-top strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and other fruits. Since their strawberries are grown on a ‘table-top’ system, you will be able to pick the strawberries without bending down!

Baskets and bags are provided into which you can pick the produce, or if you are planning to pick large quantities, trolleys are also available. The produce will be charged per kg of the fruit or vegetable, and you must pay for everything that you have picked, so only pick what you really want! Take note that you can’t eat the fruits as you walk around the farm.

This year, the farm will be open for a shorter season, from mid-June to mid-August 2023, with a larger focus on fruits rather than vegetables. For a full variety of the different crops, plan to visit in July or August. You can check out the crop calendar to help you plan for your trip. Advanced booking is required to visit the farm

Crockford Bridge Farm opens its pick-your-own season in late Spring, ahead of other farms. The season typically lasts until end October, and closes for Winter. The picking season has started for Rhubarb and Asparagus, and fruits are targeted to be available from June. Check out their website for the crop calendar of what is available to be picked.
