Visit the Old Town of Corfu

Step into a time capsule as you explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Corfu's Old Town. Lose yourself in the labyrinthine streets adorned with colorful buildings and bougainvillea-filled balconies. The old town is definitely a tourist area — though it is also an area where locals gather — so you can expect food to be more expensive here. But you will also have much more options to choose from. For slightly cheaper and more local options, head out of the tourist strip of the Old Town. Some eateries that you could consider include the O Mpekios or the Tram Cafe Kerkyra.

The old town has a number of museums that you could explore, including the Corfu Museum of Asian Art, the Antivounitossa Museum, and the Archaeological Museum of Corfu. Visit the Old Fortress of Corfu, and be sure to climb up to the top for some amazing views.

Visit the Scenic

Make your way to Paleokastritsa, a coastal village blessed with natural beauty. Explore its idyllic bays and hidden coves, and dive into the crystal-clear waters for a refreshing swim. Like the Old Town, Paleokastritsa is a tourist hot spot. But this little village is really scenic and beautiful, so you really shouldn't miss this even if you wanted to avoid tourist hotspots.

Don't miss the chance to visit the Paleokastritsa Monastery, perched on a hilltop overlooking the azure sea. The monastery is free, and the views from the top of the hill are beautiful, so there really is no reason why you should give this a miss. You can also take the narrow road up to the Paleokastrista Viewpoint for some breathtaking views.

There are also a number of beautiful beaches at Paleokastritsa that you can chill out at. And if you wanted to go out to sea, there are boat rentals available as well!

Hike up Mount Pantokrator

For awe-inspiring vistas, venture to Mount Pantokrator, Corfu's highest peak. The trails are moderately challenging, but you will be treated to amazing views as you hike through the lush trails to the peak. If hiking really isn't for you, though, there is also the option of driving up to the peak. But do be careful as you will be driving up mountainous roads!

Once at the summit, be rewarded with panoramic views of the island, neighboring islands, and the vast expanse of the Ionian Sea. For something different, you can also visit the village of Old Sinies, an abandoned village in the mountains.

Explore the Beautiful Beaches of Corfu

And of course, Corfu is renowned for its pristine beaches. Head to Glyfada, where golden sands meet turquoise waters, or explore the unique rock formations of Sidari Beach. Barbati Beach offers a tranquil setting with its crystal-clear waters and lush surroundings, perfect for unwinding and soaking up the sun. And head to Porto Timoni for some of the most stunning seaside views.

If you are not venturing far from the Old Town, you can head to Faliraki Bathing Beach, where you can get a good view of the Old Fort.

Soak up the nightlife at Kavos (or, maybe not?)

If partying and lots of cheap drinks are your ideas for a perfect holiday, then you should totally have Kavos on your itinerary. Kavos is a popular tourist village that is best known for its bustling atmosphere. But if you are looking for something beyond just drinks and a lot of partying, and you really don't like the idea of being in the midst of all the partying, then perhaps you can consider skipping Kavos.

For something quieter, there are a number of bars and beach clubs around the island where you can still enjoy some drinks away from the noise.

Go on off-island excursions

There is plenty to do and see at Corfu. But if you have sufficient time, consider going on an off-island excursion to some of the neighboring islands. You can take a cruise to go around the island or visit the nearby Parga and Paxoi. And if you are up for a long bus ride, you can even go as far as a visit to Meteora!
